PUBLIC SCHOOL BOYS

AUCKLAND, Last Night. The tirst of the boys from the great public, schools of England, hrulight out by the New Zealand (iovertimenl to receive instructions in farming, preparatory to taking up land in the Dominion, arrived by the lonic this evening. The party consists of eight, ranging in age from 17 to 2U, and the youths are of excellent type. The prefect of the party is from Oundle, and the others arc from the following schools: —Two from Cranicy, one each from Dulwich, Strand, H.M.S, Conway, Christ’s Hospital and Bradford. Three will he placed in the Otorohanga district, four in the Duunevirke district, and the eighth at Tologa Bay. The party was nominated by the New Zealand Farmers' Union, which will he responsible for their welfare in the immediate future, but they are the wards of the Under-Secretary for Immigration, Mr H. D. Thompson, who met them on arrival.
