A rink consisting 1 of Simpson, Head, Jno. Ross and Admore (s), visited Levin on Saturday in an endeavour to obtain the Manawatu Ferns, which have been in the possession of the Levin Club for some time. "
The game was evenly contested throughout, with the inclusion of two surprises in the way of big scores on the eleventh and seventeenth heads. Fox ton led off with two on the first head, and Levin drew even on the third with two singles. The tenth head brought the score 7 —5 in favour of Foxton, but on the eleventh Levin scored seven which gave them a lead of five. However, the fifteenth head showed honours even, and Foxton gained the advantage of two on the next. Levin counted a full hand for their side on the seventeenth, which left Foxton three down and four heads to go. The visitors were only one point behind at the conclusion of the nineteenth end after which Levin notched another single and a two making the final score 23 —19, after a hardfought game. The Faster Tournament to be held under the auspices of the Wanganui Centre commences on Friday, April 181.1 i., at !) a.m. Entries close on Saturday, April sfh.
The Bulls Bowling Club have intimated lhat they will postpone their proposed visit to Foxton Club until later this season. •
All games of the first three rounds of the Wiford Cup contest must be completed by to-morrow evening, 19th inst., after which date games remaining unplayed will be cancelled and counted a loss for those competitors defaulting.
The Palmerston North Centre Easter Tournament commences on Good Friday, April 18th. Tt is hoped that Foxton Club will send two or three rinks this year, and to this end the Committee ask that members who will be pleased to compete, place their names on the hoard at the pavilion forthwith.
