PRESBYTERIAN CHURCH.
The special harvest thanksgiving services and free-will offerings in connection with the local Presbyterian Church took place at Foxton and Rangiotu on Sunday. The local church was tastefully decora(ed for the occasion and the fruits of the harvest were displayed in front of the pulpit. The service of song was led by a specially auguniented choir, under the conductorship of Mr Barr. The congregations were large, particularly so at the
evening service. The Rev. !•. McDonald’s sermons were appropriate to the occasion. At the evening service the minister delivered a most eloquent and inspiring sermon from the text: “Whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap.” The local freewill offerings for the day amounted to £f>o odd. At the Rangiotu afternoon service the accommodation' was insuPlicient to meet the needs of those who attended.
Last night a social and sale of gifts was held in the schoolroom when a clearance was quickly effected. 'During the evening songs were contributed by Miss M. Patterson, Airs Slade and Air Downes.
