VALEDICTORY.

On Thursday evening the members of All Saints choir held a social evening at Mrs Walls’ tea- ; rooms in honour of the Misses Griffin and Master Albert Griffin. A very enjoyable evening was spent in glee singing and songs. Items were contributed by Mesdames Walton and Carmont. the Misses Griffin, King, Dent, Williams and Mr Betty rendered vocal items. Mr Betty, as choirmaster, made a presentation to each of the Miss Grif6ns, wishing them good luck in their new sphere. The vicar then presented Albert. Griffin with a neatlybound prayer and hymn book. In doing so, he stated that whilst sorry to lose the Griffin family, yet for Albert’s sake he was glad they were going as he had watched him for some time, and was of the opinion that he would make his way in the world given the scope which he would find in a big city. His devotion to his Church duties had shown'- him so very reliable. The management of the gathering was in the capable hands of Miss Williams. Mrs Walls was heartily thanked for the use of a cosy room for the gathering and also for the dainty supper provided. Mr -Thomber and Miss Dent played the accompaniments. Mrs Griffin and her family are leaving Foxton for Wellington at an early date.
