FAKING CREAM TESTS.
NELSON SIiPPLIEB FINED. Nelson, Yesterday. Allen Palmer, shareholder and supplier to the Waiinea Dairy Company, pleaded guilty at the Magistrate’s Court to defrauding the company of 110 y/1 by a false pretence, in unlawfully adding cream to a sample of milk supplied to the company. Accused stole the key of the sample box and added cream to his sample bottle. A watch was kept and accused was detected in the act at 10 o’clock in the morning. He confessed to a Constable that he had previously added cream and forwarded a cheque for 137 to the company to cover any loss suffered by it. The Magistrate said it was an extraordinary case and lined accused £2O.
