METHODIST CONFERENCE.
Christchurch, Yesterday
At the New Zealand Methodist Conference to-night the Presidentelect, the liev. A. Ashcroft (Thames) was inducted and Mr Frank Thompson (Christchurch) was elected vice-president for the ensuing year. The president announced that the first ballot for the election of president for 1925 had resulted as follows: —Revs. J. A. Lochore 5 votes; W. A. Hay 8; W. J. Elliott 11 P. N. Knight 66; T. R. Richards 98. The second ballot between Revs Knight (Auckland) and Richards (Napier) resulted Rev. Knight 84; Rev. Richards 119. Rev. Richards was accordingly elected president for 1925. The Rev. A. N. Scoltcr was elected secretary for 1925.
