SYDNEY BRIDGE

A GREAT UNDERTAKING

Sydney, February 27

Cabinet deliberated for 3 hours before accepting the Hon. R. T. Ball’s (Minister of Public Works) recommendation in regard to the Dorman Long Company’s tender for the Sydney Harbour Bridge. The amount of the tender is £111,809 less than the estimate by Mr J. C. Bradfield, Chief Engineer for Metropolitan Railway Construction. Tn fabrication and erection, the bridge will practicaly be 100 per cent. Australian. The contractors believe that the bridge will be completed in six years. Upwards of two thousand men are to he employed immediately fhe necessary preliminary works arc completed.
