FOXTON FOOTBALL CLUB.

ANNUAL REPORT AND BALANCE-SHEET.

The following is the report and balance-sheet to be presented to the annual meeting to be held iu the Town Hall supper-room to-morrow night.

“In presenting the annual report and balance-sheet for the past season, your committee desires to congratulate members on (he successful operations during the year. The season commenced with a credit balance of: 13/5 and closed with a balance in hand of £ls 6/10, a posilion which, in view of the heavy expenses incurred during the season, is highly .satisfactory. In connection with finances, the Club is greatly indebted to the ladies’ committee who arranged the catering at the annual ball free of cost, thereby saving the Club a considerable amount, also to Mr S. Austin for conveying the delegates to the Union meetings at Levin which effected another saving. Your committee wishes to draw attention to the increase in donations to the club which indicates the keen interest taken in the Club’s welfare by the townspeople. In connection with Mr J. T. Follas’ medals, your committee decided to present one to the Lost all round player in the FoxtonBulls match played at Foxton and the fudges unanimously decided to

award same to Mr W. Moses. During tlie season the Club entered senior, junior, third and fourth grade teams in the Horowhenua Union’s competitions. Of these, the Third and Fourth grade teams won their respective competitions. The seniors who were unlucky in being short of players for most- of the -eason wound up, with a strong combination, by winning the Nash Cup, which is a new trophy given by Mr E. Nash, of Levin, for a senior knock-out competition and which was very keenly contested by the different clubs in the Union. Your committee has no doubt that members generally will join with us in our appreciation of the generous way in which the local press has given space for reports of matches and football matters in general, a fact which greatly sustains interest in the game, and in conclusion, your committee desires to thank all those who helped with donations to the Club’s funds, and assisted the Club in other directions, and to say that the prospects for the current season are very encouraging and that a very successful season is anticipated.”

The balance-sheet shows receipts totalling £7B 11/8 and the expenditure £63 4/10, leaving a credit balance of £ls 6/10, a very satisfactory position.
