TREASURER’S REPORT.
At, Tuesday’s meeting of the Power Board, the Treasurer reported as follows: —
During ike munlh on account of Contract No. 19, supply of single phase and polyphase meter's —£1995 lots been forwarded to meet payments in London. The accounts for confirmation and for payment amount to £7,448 1-1/fueluded in these Recounts are substantial payments &r wire, amounting to about £1370. A year’s sinking fund in connection with the £SU,OOO loan, amounting to £BOO is auottier item. A second progress payment on the shannon aub-station and cottage accounts, Tor £SOO and poles and cross-arm timber absorbs another £6OO. With the several pole and wiring gangs now working, it will be noticed that ike wages pay roll is u substantial feature of the monthly payments. fhe accountant, Mr p. J. Ramsay recently appointed by the Board, lias commenced his duties and is engaged in opening up a set of the uecessary permanent books for the Board’s work and operations. Requests for financial assistance for consumers’ installations have not so far assumed very large proportions. A copy of the position in this respect, relating to Groups 1 and 2, will be placed before the Board for its consideration. Another 20 tons of bare wire is just, to hand and will mean a payment shortly of £1950.
