GAS WORKS STOKER FATALLY SCALDED.

Hnwera, February 18,

Frederick Spice, a stoker in the Hnwera Gasworks, was clinking the fires on Saturday afternoon when a mass of hot clinkers fell into the water in the pit creating a cloud of steam which scalded him. Spice wjis able to climb out of the pit and obtained assistance. His condition was not considered very serious at. first, but, it became worse and be succumbed. He leaves a wiiV and dangrhtor.
