IN DIVORCE.
SORDID EVIDENCE,
Wellington, Last Night,
In asking for a dissolution of her marriage in the Supreme Court today, a young woman, Alice Maud Marv Ker, alleged that she first suspected her husband, Robert Henry Ker, of adultery when she noticed pine needles in his hair. In evidence she said her husband had threatened to kill her and himself with chloroform.
On being cross-examined, she said she went away because she did not want to interfere with him if he did take poison.
Edith Thomas, private detective, said she saw Ker lying with an unknown woman, in the reserve one evening. He picked up a black kitten. “Evidently it did not bring him much luck.” observed Judge MacGregor.
