BOY SCOUTS.

LOCAL TROUPE FORMED.

A meeting was held in All Saints' School last night for the purpose of forming a local troop of scouts. About 25 boys were in attendance. The Rev. W. IL Walton presided, and explained the aims and objects of the movement. He said patrols from Palmerston North have promised to come and help Foxton get a good start.

The District Commissioner has asked the Vicar to be Scoutmaster’, and three or more assistants are required. Loi’d Jellicoe has expressed the wish that Sea Scouts should be formed here, but until the boys have learnt the rudimentary principles of Scout work this can nut be done. It is to be hoped that parents and boys will take the matter up keenly.
