WEDDINGS.
’Che marriage look place at St. Matthew’s Church, Hastings, on Wednesday last, of Mrs pathleen Ilarriette Douglas, widow of the late W. J. Douglas, Te Mahanga, and Mr. Kenneth Cecil White, son of Mr. J. W. White, of Grasmere, Timaru. The bride, who wore a gown of lavender georgette panelled with silver lace, was given away bv her father, F. Robinson, Esq., of “Herrington” Foxton. She was attended by her sister, Miss F. Robinson, who wore a gown of biscuit georgette. Dr. F. Boxer was best man. The guests were entertained at the residence of Mr. and Mrs. .1. A. Fraser, Mrs. Fraser being a sister of the bridegroom. ROBINSON—NIXON ■ St. .John’s Church, Wanganui, was the scene of the marriage on Wednesday 6th inst. of Irene Ellen St. Clair, only daughter of Mr Arthur Nixon, and the late Mrs. Nixon, to Gordon, only son of the late Mr. W. G. Robinson, and Mrs. Robinson of Foxton. The Rev. Archdeacon Reeve, of Wanganui, officiated. The bride who was given in marriage by Mr. R. Beauchamp, of Wanganui, wore a dainty frock of white voile and lace, and a white and gold hat. She earned a beautiful bouquet of cream and yellow roses. Miss Grace Robinson attended the bride. She wore a white and blue voile frock, with white tulle hat. and varied blue delphiniums. Mr. V. Robinson, cousin of the bridegroom was best man. The church was beautifully decorated with blue, white, and pink hydrangeas, the work of girl friends of the bride. After the ceremony a reception was held at Mr. and Mrs. Beauchamp’s pretty home. The table, and all the decorations were carried out in pink asters, and blue and white hydrangeas. A very beautiful wedding bell hung in the hall. Only intimate friends and relatives were present, among them being Mrs. W. G. Robinson, mother of the bridegroom, black charmeuse, black, lia.t with ospreys; Mrs. J. Anderson, aunt of bride, grey silk coat and skirt, heliotrope hat and flowers; Mrs Foreman, brown costume, hat to tone; Mrs. A. Hadfield, aunt of bridegroom, grey coat and skirt; Miss Anderson cousin of bride, deep apricot organdie, hat to tone. The bride travelled in a blue wool, and silk costume, with cream silk jumper and hat. —Chronicle
