KING COUNTRY AND LOCAL OPTION.
MESSAGE TO PRIME AHNISTER. TO BE DEALT WITH NEXT SESSION. Te Kuiti, Last Night. When Mr Alassey returned to the Dominion recently he was the recipient of the following telegram from Air H. T. Alorton, honorary secretary of the King Country Local Option Committee: “The King Country welcomes you back to New Zealand. We trust- you will soon bring down legislation to enable this large and progressive district to enjoy the privilege of voting on the question of local option, a right already enjoyed by the whole of the rest of New Zealand.” To this Air Alorton has received the following reply: “Alany thanks for your good wishes, which I very much appreciate. The matter referred to will be dealt with early next session.
