FURTHER REMAND.

Dunedin, Last Night

In the Police Court James Golding 'and William Percy Capes were charged with conspiring with each other and William Williamson to defraud the Southland Racing Club by the substitution for Look Out of Willie Lincoln. The police asked for a remand till Friday, when Williams will also appear, and when a further remand is probable.

On the question of bail, the police stated this had already been fixed at Christchurch, but in the ease of Golding, was not forthcoming. It was mentioned that he was a labourer in poor circumstances, and bail was reduced to self in £2OO or two sureties of £IOO. Capes’ bail was fixed at £250 or two sureties of a like amount, both to report daily to the police. ANOTHER ARREST. Christchurch, Last Night. This afternoon, local detectives arrested C. H. Capes, fruiterer, a brother of W. P. Capes (who is nowon remand) on a charge of conspiring with W. P. Capes, W. Williamson, and J. Golding, to defraud the Southland Racing Club by the substituting of the horse Willie Lincoln for Look Out.
