DANGEROUS PORTIONS TO RE FENCED. In a Idler to tlie Wellington Automobile Club, which came before its meeting on Tuesday, the Public \\ orkn Department made an oiler to expend £SO m fencing the dangerous portions of the road over tlie Paekakariki Hill, on condition that, the club found a similar amount. flic chairman, Mr S. G. Nathan, expressed the opinion tiiat it would be money well spent and lie thought the club would be well advised to donate £SO of its funds towards this purpose. They should stipulate that a post and wire fence be erected as this had been proved to be the best thing for stopping cars.
Air A. N. Field said that there was not more than twenty chains altogether which required fencing. The secretary was instructed to write to the Public Works Department intimating the club’s willingness to pay half the cost of the work up to £IOO.
