ROAD FOREMAN’S REPORT.
The road foreman reported as follows. —
During the past month, the road staff has been engaged on the following works; Mowing grass and grubbing wattle and noxious weeds at the cemetery; top-dressing the southern portion of Main St.; weeding water channels and footpaths, Wharf St.; repairing bank of drain Avenue Rd.; patching ruts Avenue Rd, Sandon Rd., and Park St., and general maintenance work. The grass in Victoria Park has also been cut and cleaned up. I am informed that a portion of the metal ordered from the County Council is likely to arrive soon. This is badly needed for patching, especially on the Sandon Rd. Meanwhile the staff has used clinker to fill up the worst of the ruts. The caretaker’s cottage yard, at the Town Hall, is badly in need of re-asphalting. A few yards of tarred metal in at pre-.-ent in hand, more than sufficient for this work.—Adopted.
