A popular book becomes even more popular on the screen. This fact led to (lie filming of “Truxton King.” George Bair MeCuteheon’s dramatic tale which holds pride of place in a fine programme at the town Hall to-night. The tale concerns the adventures of a Cook’s tourist who, during his wanderings, becomes mixed up in an attempt to overthrow a throne, a battle to save a castle, the rescue of an exceptionally attractive girl and a love romance. The leading role is played by John Gilbert, so favourably remembered as the Count of •‘Mont e Gris to.” During this film lie does a sensational high dive from the top of a castle wall into the moat below. Kathleen Clifford and Mickey Moore are in the cast. Tonight’s supply of comedy is in the capable hands of Clyde Cook, who offers his latest fast and laughing success “Lazy Bones.” News reel completes the bill which will be screened at usual prices 9d and 1/6, children 3d and 6d. On Wednesday next the crook story entitled “Kick In,” featuring Bert Lytell, and Betty Compson will be t-lie leading film at the Cabaret. ROYAL PICTURES. What ever yon do, you must not mis.- the great double programme at the Koval Theatre to-night. First of all Max Linder will appear in his supreme burlesque entitled “The Three Must.-Get-Theres.” This is the twentieth century version of the "Three Musketeers,” and is a scream from start to finish. Secondly there is Anita Stewart in “A Question of Honour,” another of her incomparable plays, and then the programme finishes up with another exciting- episode of “In the Days of Buffalo Bill." Prices only 9d and 1/6, children 3d and Gd. A real good programme. On Monday night -Alice Lake, whose Metro pictures have provided her chiefly with dramatic roles, a pi'.-cars in her latest photoplay en titled “Kisses," a c-omedy-drama. tn Ihc east supporting Miss Lake are Harry Myers, Edward Connelly, Edward Jobson, Dana Todd, Miguon Anderson and John Maekinnon. '•’he plot is very exciting and the picture contains good humor as well. Prices 9d and 1/6, children as usual.
