MOTOR CRASHES INTO BRIDGE.

ONE KILLED, SEVERAL INJURED, YV hangar ei, Last Night. A daily company’s motor waggon got oui of control at 11 o’clock this morning while going down a hill on the Otaika Rd. and crashed into a concrete bridge at the bottom. It capsized into a creek fifteen feet below. Several passengers were aboard, and Miss Charlotte Harrison, of Mangapai, aged about 50, was killed almost instantly. Nurse Williams, of the Whangarei Hospital staff, was badly bruised, and suffered severe shock. A boy, Edwin Hardy, though on the underside of the vehicle, escaped practically scatkless. Mr Robert Kernohan, an ex-county chairman, also missed any injury. The driver, Edwiu Hardy, received a few cuts, but was otherwise uninjured. The vehicle was badly smashed.
