FIREMAN IN TROUBLE. Wellington, December 28. Using obscene language at Auckland resulted in the appearance at tin* Magistrate’s Court on Thursday of Michael O’Brien, a fireman, on llie Marama. Sergeant Whitehouse stated that the Auckland police had no objection to tbe accused being tried in Wellington. The facts as disclosed by the prosecution were that the Mamma was leaving Auckland for Sydney, and there had been trouble with the firemen.- The accused was-on shore at the time, and was put aboard the vessel in a drunken condition. Just as the boa I was moving off, tin* accused came up from below and used obscene language to constables oil the wharf. A large crowd of people were on the whari at the time, to see Hie boat off. Asked if lie had anything to say, the accused replied that he did not remember anything until llifee days after he was put on board. His Worship (Mr C. R. Orr-Wal-ker, S.M.) imposed a fine ofs£7 and costs, in default, 14 days’, imprisonment.
