SHOT THROUGH THE HEART.
YOUNG MAN FOUND DEAD. Ashburton, December 2f>. Yesterday morning at Fairiield, Albert Baden .John YVillis (23), was found dead in a plantation, shot through tlie heart. A pea rifle was lying alongside the body. Willis was the son of a family long resident in the district. Yesterday morning deceased caused concern by nob partaking of breakfast and gave no reason. At 10.30 o’clock lie went (.ill with a pea ride, and later on a Utter, which he had left at home, was found. This caused alarm, and search was made immediately, and the body of the young man was found by Miles Sprott in the middle of the county council plantation, ahout a mile from his home. Dr. W. .1. Mnllin was summoned, but life was extinct. An inquest was held at Willis's house this morning, before the Coroner, Air -T. (tow. Evidence of idemilieation was given, and the inquest was adjourned.
