FOUND DROWNED
The body of a fully-dressed elderly man was discovered floating near the-tug wharf, in the Wellington harbour, on Tuesday. After the body was recovered determined efforts were made by the police at artificial respiration but they failed to produce any signs of life in the drowned man.
The body's condition indicated iliat it could not have been in the wafer for more than a couple of hours as it was still warm on being recovered. The efforts of Dr. Daggle were of no avail. At the lime of its discovery the outer clothing of the body was a brown striped suit and black boots. Both arms of deceased were profusely tut toed and lie appeared to he aged about 40, and about SH. Sin. in height. The body was taken to the morgue, where blentilic.-:! ion ua> found impossible.
A supposition that (he name of the deceased was Miners proved incorrect, and at a late hour last evening he was identified as Alexander Churchman. The late address at which deceased was known to have resided was 11 Ebor Rt. An inquest was held at the Police Court this morning.
