SWIMMING NOTES
The swimming carnival to have been held yesterday, unfortunately had to be postponed. The committee met yesterday morning, when things did not look too promising, rain having fallen heavily during the night and word having been received that the inspectors had arrivd at the school and those school children entering in the events would not. he able to get away. This, together with the fact that (lie river was in a rather muddy stale was the cause of the committee deciding to postpone the carnival indefinitely. It is probable that, the carnival will he held during the holiday season, and possibly at the beach, which place would prove far more suitable than the river. A committee meeting is called for this evening at six o’clock sharp. A full attendance is requested as business is important.
