METHODIST SUNDAY SCHOOL
CONCERT AND PRIZE GIVING. The anniversary concert and prize giving in connection with the_ above, held on Thursday evening, was a great success and the seboolrootn was packed to its utmost eapaeity with a very appreciative audience. The chair was occupied by the Rev. Boothroyd, who opened with prayer and speech. The programme was varied and full of merit. The children had been trained hy Airs Frank Chalk, who devoted much time and energy to the training and judging by the applause, her efforts were suitably rewarded. Voles of thanks were accorded the superintendent and his staff of officials and teachers, Air Betty for his help in the anniversary singing, Air Moorman, Airs Chalk, and Aliss Evans as instrumentalists: Airs Chalk for training the children, Ensign Huston for lending the seats, Airs Alorgan for the loan of piano and all who in any way helped to make the anniversary such a success. The prizes were presented by the superintendent, Air Huntley, over ninety very fine hooks being distributed. The following programme was submitted: —
Action song: “Down by the Sea,” song: “Black Dollies,” dialogue: “Arthur’s Bravery,” action song: “The Railway Train,” dialogue: “Naughty Johnnie,” action song: “Butterflies,” recitation, Afona Aloore, action song: “Shopping,” recitation: Connie Knott; recitation Doris Coley (encore); action song “Lullaby,” song by the boys : “The Farmer,” recitation: Dessie Brown; dialogue, “A Large Sum of Money,” song: Miss Nina Seadden; action song: “ATav Earies,” recitation, Violet Bangs; tableaux “Summer,” and “Love at Home.” Refreshments were handed round at the conclusion.
