MAGISTRATE’S COURT.
The ordinary monthly sitting of the Magistrate’s Court was held yesterday, before Mr J. L. Stout, S.M. BY-LAW CASES. For driving motor vehicles within the borough at excessive rates of speed, Robert Wilson, Stanley D. Pearce, Daniel Davis, Maurice Levy, •Tames Frost, Ethel Strachan, Douglas Brophy, W. A. Waters, Jessie Ross, Ines Austin, William Mackey, and William Stewart Park were each fined £2 wth costs 7/-; Ivor, Watkins, was fined £3 witli 7/eosts and Thomas Leslie Heaynes £2 with costs 17/-. Mr Bergin conducted the prosecutions on behalf of the Borough Council. JUVENILE COURT. A young Maori lad who was charged with the theft of £3 from the Foxton Meat Company’s butcher’s shop, Main Street, pleaded guilty and the Magistrate adjourned the case for six months, in the meantime the lad is to he under the supervision of the probation officer. CIVIL CASES. Judgment for plaintiff was entered up in the following civil cases:— H. B. Cresswell v. D. McCauley, £6 13/-, costs £1 16/6; same v. F. Churcher, £3 5/-, costs £1 11/6; D. W. Robertson and Co. Ltd. v. T. Bishop, £l2 18/2, costs £3 2/-. •JUDGMENT SUMMONSES. H. B. Cresswell was ordered to pay D. W. Robertson and Co. Ltd. £8 2/7 plus costs 35/6 forthwith. J. MeColl was ordered to pay A. and T. Burt Ltd. £ll3 5/10 plus £2 12/6 costs at the rate of £25 per month.
