MANAWATU CROQUET ASSOCIATION.

ANNUAL MEETING. The annual meeting of the M&nawatti? Croquet Association was held ~ ofC. tjjie grounds of the Manawatu ' Boiling; Croquet and Tennis Club, Palmerston? N. on Wednesday last, ■ Mr d. P. Spooner in the chair. Delegates from-the following affiliated clubs were present:— Mrs Ellis (Hunterviile), Mrs Hughes (Wood-pile).,-Mrs Clarke (Manawatu) Mrs Perrean (Foxton), Mrs Flint (Tokaro), Mr 1 Bruce (Terrace End), Mrs., Palmer- (Northern), Mrs McLeod (Wanganui), Mr A. RliodesWilliams (acting-secretary), Mr A. D. Campbell (retiring bon. secretary), and Mr C. A. E. Ferguson, lion, secretary of the New Zealand Croquet Council. The annual report and balancesheet were read and confirmed. The balance-sheet was considered satisfactory and showed a. credit of £1 1/3. The matter of the next provincial tournament was discussed and it was decided to commence that meeting on January 2nd, 1924. The question of a series of interclub matches was then discussed at considerable length, the various delegates being most enthusiastic that such a scheme should be inaugiyrated and the following were appointed to arrange and control these matches: —Mrs Clarke and Mr A. Rhodes-Williams. The first round was fixed to be played as follows Foxton v. Levin, at Manawatu, on Thursday, 6th December; Northern v. Woodville, at Manawatu, Thursday, 6th December; Terrace End v. Tokaro, at Northern, Saturday, Bth December; Manawatu v. HunterPile, at Tokaro, Thursday, 6th December; Dannevirke, a bye. Teams are to consist of six players and two doubles and two singles are to be played. All matches are to.be played on the Palmerston North greens as the most central and convenient for the competing clubs.
