MASONIC GRAND LODGE
GRAND MASTER INSTALLED. LORD JELLICOE RE-ELECTED. Tiie attendance at the communication of the Masonic Grand Lodge of New Zealand, held in Wellington on Wednesday, if not the largest on record, was certainly the largest in its range of districts represented. Lord Jellicoe presided, as grand master. The Hon. H. L. Michel, progrand master, and a large number of dignitaries of the craft were present.
By the unanimous vote of Gi’and Lodge, passed after recognition of his whole-hearted work in the past twelve months, Viscount Jellicoe was re-elected to the office of grand master. The Hon. H. L. Michel, of Hokitika, was re-elected pro-grand master. The grand master announced his appointment of other officers as follows: —deputy grand master: Mr James Armstrong (Auckland); provincial grand masters: Messrs 0. Nicholson (Auckland), Geo. Russel (Wellington), Wm. Lischner (Otago), N. A. Stout (Southland), W. Hayden Maclean (Ruapehu), J. W. Richie (Hawke’s Bay), F. C. Wade (West. Coast), R. P. Furness (Nelson and Marlborough), W. N. Ewing (Taranaki), R. W. Mcßride Canterbury); senior grand warden: Mr W. G. Hay (Dunedin); junior grand warden: Mr J. K. Horablow (Foxton). The Grand Officers took part in the laying of two foundation stones one at Eastbourne and the other on Wellington Terrace. The ceremonies, which were of a particularly impressive nature, were witnessed by a large concourse of people. The next communication will be held at Auckland.
