ENTERTAINMENTS
GREAT EVENTS Often spring from trifles. In this wav was conceived the idea of “The Anglican Community Fair.” The tug-of-war tournament will undoubtedly prove one of thp most attractive events, if not the most popular. A team has already been entered from the local borough council staff and they should give a good account of themselves, although it is believed there are several dark horses in the field. Numerous innovations have been introduced, one of them a Atoek Court, another the “Leg Puller,” in addition to many others equally interesting. The stalls this year have been exceptionally well catered for. and the. slogan “value for money,” is being carried out in its entirety. Admission to the Fair is free, bat. we are reminded that, it will he safer for patrons to lake their .money with them to the Fair than leave it in the house while they are out. “PAWN TICKET 210.” Shirley Alason, piquant, young slar, is appearing in a type of play entirely different from anything she has ever worked in before in “Pawn Ticket 210,” at the Town Hall on Saturday next. The story deals wth the life of a girl tvlio was left in a pawnshop by her mother when the girl was an infant. The pawnbroker takes the little one into his home and raises her as his own daughter. After many years the old man dreads the day when the mother will come hack for her child. ‘.‘Pawn Ticket 210” has a. big reputation as a stage play and in the dainty hands of Shirley Alason the picture has been made a winner.
