DESTRUCTION OF RABBITS.
CALCIUM OF CYANIDE AS AN ■-V AGENT. Some months ago the Live Stock Division of the Department of Agriculture got in touch by cable with Professor H. J. Quayle, United States specialist, with a view to securig a supply of calcium of cyanide for the practical test of its destination of rabbits. The material was obtained and tested in various places, with very promising results. AJarger supply has since come to t hand, and further tests are now in progress. The question of comparative cost when compared with other methods, and haying regard to relative efficiency, is being also worked out. Given continued satisfactory results the Department will take the necessary steps to enable supplies to be available to settlers.
