HEALTH REPORT

At Alonday night’s meeting of the Borough Council the Health Inspector reported as follows: — “During the past: quarter one case of scarlet fever and 1. case of dipflieria were notified in the borough. At my request, both these cases were removed to hospital to minimise the risk of the spread of infection. These figures should be considered satisfactory for the period under review. Five eases of pneumonia were also notified—two of tbesexwere removed to hospital while of the remainder, two proved fatal. “Plumbing and drainage inspections have occupied most of the time in your borough. The progress is now satisfactory, and the plumbing work is fairly well up-to-date with the drainage work. Great progress has been made in the Main St. area. Owing to the time taken up on this work, house to house inspections have consequently only been made in special areas. Numerous complaints ns to nuisances have been attended to and in all cases the nuisances have been nbnted, If is to Ik* regretted that your Council is not going in for a municipal rubbish removal system, ns most, of those nuisances are through accumulations, which your Council really encourages with the present “load system.” The report was adopted.
