BOROUGH COUNCIL
At Monday nigth’s Borough Council meeting correspondence was dealt with as follows: — From the Health Department re unsatisfactory rubbish removal system. —Received. From the Health Department enclosing a copy of Plumbing and Drainage Regulations under the Health Act, 1920. —Received. From the State Advances Office re loan of £5,000, stating that as an application from the Council for a loan of £5,000 (which is the full amount available in any one financial year) has alredy been entertained since April last, regret that they are unable to submit a further application before April next.—Received. From the Medical Officer of Health recommending a “clean-up” day. —Received. From the Awahou Auctioneering Co. containing quotations in reference to earthenware pipes for drainage work. Cr. McMurray recommended that the Council procure pipes from this company and said the prices were the same as the Council paid for pipes to outside firms. The Town Clerk: You’re' terested party Cr. McMurray.' any case, he pointed out that the' prices are not the same.
