The police are investigating the theft of a large sum of money from a local residence.

The progress being made by Ah' 17. T. Reid, schoolmaster, Constable Olsen and I lie boy, Alexander Bustard, three of the more seriously wounded of the victims of the Wnikino school tragedy, is most satisfactory (says the X.Z. Herald). Ah' Reid has so far iccovered that he is now aide to lake short walks. Consinhl,* Olsen is still confined to his lied, but is steadily regaining bis strength.
