COUNTY CLERK ARRESTED
Palmerston N. Yesterday. Alleged deficiencies in the funds of the Pohangina County Council led to the clerk of that body, Herbert, Symes, being arrested yesterday and charged that on or about the 23rd day of May, 1923, at Poliaugina, he did commit the theft of £IOO in money, the property of the Pohangina County Council. The accused applied for bail, which was granted at self £3OO, and two surieties each of £l5O. He was remanded to appear on Friday next, November 16.
