MAORI PRISONER DIES IN HOSPITAL.

Wellington, To-day. Pakira Haeata, the young Te Ore Ore Alaori, who was sentenced to live years’ imprisonment at the Alarch.sessions in Alasterton for attempted murder at Blaekrock station, Wairarapa, died in the Wellington Hospital on Thursday. Deceased, during the affray received a charge from a shot gun in the arm and the wad produced blood poisoning. , Haeata was in hospital until his trial in Alasterton and ever since be left for Wellington after being sentenced. The at length amputated but Haeata collapsed after the operation and died.
