ESCAPE FROM CUSTODY.

PRISONER COMMITTED FOB SENTENCE. Dunedin, Yesterday. Joseph Thomas Christie, awaiting trial on a charge of breaking and entering the premises of the Otago Farmers’ Co-op.,- at Dunedin, and Mosgiel, pleaded guilty this morning to a .charge of escaping while' lawfully confined and was committed for sentence. The evidence showed that accused unlocked his Cell" on Bth October, in the early morning with an ingeniously constructed key made from bent wires bound with a strip of blanket. He was caught near .the railway station within a few minutes.
