“DICK WHITTINGTON PANTOr MIME.” TOWN HALL, FOSTON, TUESDAY NEXT. The ingredients of a good pantomime consist of a pretty nursery story, abundance of rollicking comedy, a munber'of bespangled dancing girls, colourful scenery, delightful and extravagant dresses, a glittering ensemble, the whole flavoured with romance and served up brightly with melodious trimmings; all these are to be found in Tano Fama’s pantomime “Dick Whittington.” Before proceeding to New Zealand, the pantomime was presentde in Newcastle (N.S.W.) and the newspapers were highly eulogistic, one of them going so far as to say that they had never seen' such a splendid cast outside of metropolitan productions. Miss Saidie TilLnrn takes the part of the Principal Boy, George “Edwards acts King Rat, Mr Fank Kavello the donkey and Master Jackie Cass the eat. Of the scenic offerings, “The Lovers’ Walk,” is a feast of beautiful flowers which vies with “The Tropical Isle,” and “The Palace of Jewels,” for pride of place in a number of gorgeous scenes. Box plan (for reserved seats) are obtainable at R. L. Heath’s. “A GREAT NIGHT,” AT THE TOWN HALL. William Russell will be seen at tho Town Hall to-night in his latest success, “The Great Night.” In this picture, which deals with the operations of a gang of jewel thieves, Russell plays the part of heir of the owner of a large jewellery establishment, who obtains a position in the'police force to escape the attentions of women who are seeking to trick him into matrimony, in'order to obtain his money. The young man’s father stipulates in. his will that unless his son marries within a, certain time.he shall not share in I lip estate. Eva Novsk plays opposite the star. The special comedy “The Pirate,” featuring Lupino Lane, is added to to-night’s programme, which will he screened at usual prices, fid and 1/6, children 3d and (id. Next. Wednesday the drama that steps on the gas, passes every thrill in sight, and firings you out of your seat cheering: Racing Hearts.” ROYAL PICTURES. Heralded as the greatest and most 1 thrilling drama of the turf, “Garrison’s Finish.” will be screened at the Royal Theatre to-night, from start to finish, “Garrison’s Finish” is exjiilerating and an entertainment «>t* the highest class, being that sort of photoplay which contains every element that the general public likes,"including romance, intrigue,,.thrills, and well sustained suspense’. It has charm, dash and everything the regulars like to see projected on the screen. Comedy: “Home 1 Rule.” Extra: The final episode of “The Perils of the Yukon.” On Monday night “Woman, Wake 1 j>," the popular Florence Vidor, will he screened and should provide an excellent evening’s entertainment. This is an Associated Producers picture which is a guarantee in itself. Extra:-“The Timber Queen,” Prices 9d and 1/0, children as usual. Look out for Wesley Barry next week in “Heroes of the Street.”
