UNUSUAL DEATH.
Melbourne, October 10. Robert Medlieott, charged with murdering his 11-year-old daughter, was acquitted. The evidence disclosed that the accused’s children were quarrelling at the tea-table, and a knife was thrown which penetrated the girl’s chest. She died shortly after, When questioned by the police, tlie accused said that he did not know why he threw the knife, but he might have done so.
