FIRE BRIGADE DANCE.

Last evening the Fire Brigade held the wind-up of their fortnightly assemblies in the form of a Cabaret evening in the Town HalL The hall was decorated with red and gold streamers. About eighty couples were present, including visitors from outside districts. During supper, which was in the hands of the ladies’ committee, whistles and squeakers were distributed, which added to the general enjoyment. The music was supplied by Mrs Pearson, y Messrs N. Hiriui and A. Walls, and various visitors. Messrs Nattrass, A. Walls and id. Head capably carried out the duties of M. ’sC. The novelty dances were won by the following:—Ballon waltz: Miss M. Stevenson and Mr F. Procter, and Miss Rita Dunn and Mr F. Robertson (tie); booby: Mrs Roore and Mr. E. Cunningham. First spot waltz: i\iiss N. Robertson and Mr P. .Lingard; second spot waltz: Mr E. Cunningham and Miss C. Walsh.
