FOXTON LAWN TENNIS CLUB.
The annual general meeting of the Foxton Lawn Tennis Club was held in the Town Hall committee-room on Thursday night, Mr C. Simmons (president), in the chair. There was a'good attendance of members •present. The report and balance-sheet as previously published, was rend and adopted. ELECTION OF OFFICERS. The following officers were elected for the ensuing year:—Patron: Air -F. Robinson; President, Mr C. Simmons; Vice-presidents: Alessrs P. S. Easton, J. Chrystnll, A. Ross, A. Fraser, and J. Linklatev, ALP. (subject, to their consent); secretary: Air 0. Townshend; treasurer: Mr C. Procter; auditor: Mr W. Trueman; committee: Misses 6. Robinson, C. Beard, R. Barber, I. Austin, and Nevlon, Drs. Wyllie and Rowley, Alessrs N. Ross, E. Jackson, and Tl. Rnngiheuen; match committee: Alessrs C. Bryant, C. Procter, and N. Ross. NEW AfEAffiERS. The following new members were elected: —Alessrs Townshend, AleClaren, W. Hynes, A. Fuller, W. H. Robinson, C. Francis, R. Rangilieuea, . Misses E. Patterson,. R. Admore, Speirs, Y. Easton, Edwards, Mudford, Patton, T. Heasman, Wy’llie, L. Robinson and Mrs Clinberg; honorary members: Afiss J. Ross, Alesdames A. Ross, Head and Anstin-.Tohnston and Afr S. Head. GENERAL. The opening day was fixed for October 20th. It was decided that the subscription remain the same as last season, viz., ladigs 15/-, gentlemen £1 10/-, and members under the age of 16, 5/-. Air Al. Robinson's resignation was accepted with regret. A working “bee” was arranged to carry out .repairs to the courts. It was decided that members purchase balls locally and that balls not be purchased by the club to be sold to members. All balls used in matches to be sold to members afterwards. It was moved that, letters of thanks be sent to the ladies and gentlemen who so kindly helped to make the recent hall such a success, viz., Mesdnmcs Head, Pearson, Procter and X Heasman and Messrs A. Stevenson and Nattrass. Carried. It was moved that the entrance fees collected for competitions be used to help in engraving cups etc. —Gamed. The meeting closed with a hearty vote of thanks to the chair and also to the retiring secretary, Air N. Ross.
