BAND OF HOPE.

A most enthusiastic meeting was held in the Preshytoran Sunday School on Friday last for the purpose of forming a Band of Hope. The room was packed, both young and old being well represented. Mrs Ensign Huston was voted to the chair. The Bev. J. Boothroyd gave an interesting address on Band of Hope, its meaning, work, ete. Mr Banks also spoke of the good work to be done for and by the children. Community singing was indulged in and a short programme was then gone through, tlie following contributing items: Recitations: Vernon Moore, Molly Huston, Ula Cunningham and Guy Shaw; songs:—Roberta GriHin and Molly Huston; duets Maudie and Madge King, Phyllis and Horace Tong; dialogue:—Mona Moore and Frank Marquand. Apologies for absence were received from Rev. and Mrs McDonald. ’l’lie nexi meeting is to be held in the Methodist school-room.
