SENSATIONAL ARREST OF BURGLAR.
A PROFESSIONAL WRESTLER. CONSTABLE SECURES HIS ALAN. Auckland, September 29. For the past two months there Imve been numerous burglaries in DevouporL, and early this morning Constable Nehoff, wlio has been specially selected i’or night patrol duty, made an arrest in sensational circumstances, after a twenty minutes struggle. ill about 3.45 a.m., the constable noticed a man in Uie Auckland Meat Company’s premises, and waited for tlie intruder Lo emerge. Under cover of the noise of a passing- milk cart the man wrenched open a back uoor. Tfie policeman followed and after seating' two fences, one sixfeet . and older Leu feel kigli, came up lo tne suspect. As the iuiter laded to stop wiion ordered, tlie constable nred a revolver, mainly as an alarm. A few paces iurtiier on, it is slated, LUe man turned, presenting a revolver and allegedly threatened Lo sfiooL the constable, wlio again fired, the bullet grazing- Uie mans tup. The latter men tm-ew away ins revolver unu as lie turned, Uie consLable leaped, Pearing- nun to the ground. A neree struggle ensued. Conslauie Adi oil is an experienced wrestler, but ne find great diliicuity in nundcuiiiiig nis man. Hie man under arrest is Alfred Arthur Hinds, a professional wrestler, known as "ttoidier ilioinpsou.’
