Goodbehere, coroner, conducted an inquest on the body of John Gibson, which was found on the beach near tlie month of the Rangitikei River, on Wednesday last. The evidence showed that deceased was an employee of Mr J. Gordon-EUiott, manager of Flock House Station, and that on August 14 last, the deceased whilst at tempting to ford the Rangitikei River, was carried away and drowned. A verdict of accidental drowning was returned. Some trouble which occurred at tin* Mangaliao hydro-electric works during the week-end in consequence of complaints in regard to the qualitv of llie/food and cooking at one of the workmen’s camps has been settled.
