DEATH OF LORD MORLEY.
London, September 24, Mr Asquith to-night mode a statement • regarding Lord Morley’s death. “It is not a tragedy,” he said, “but it means the disappearance of the last survivor of the Heroic age. lie first political mentor, and for upwards of 30 years was a wise counsellor, and the best of comrades, and in his last years an unfailing, devoted and revered friend. Only last, week I had a letter from him which I shall always treasure. English literature and the great traditions of public life will he impoverished by his loss.”
