The monthly silting of the Magistrate’s Court was held locally vesterdav morning before Air .7. L. SI out’ S,M. BY-LAW CASES. Allan McKay, for riding a motor cycle in Alain Street, without a light after sunset on September Ist, was fined 10/- with costs 7/-. Robert Chaffey for riding a Like without lights on the 3rd September after sunset, was fined 5/- with costs 7/-. —w ' For permitting stock to wander in the borough, A". L. Stevenson was fined 5/- with costs 7/-; Pahi Halidone 10/-, with costs 7/-; H. Hartley (two charges) was fined 10/witli 7/- costs on the first charge and £1 with 7/- costs on the second; Basil Walls on two similar charges was fined 10/- on the first charge ami Cl on..!,lie...second, each with mists 7/-. ' MAI MAINTENANCE case. : For failing 1d..-.pomply, with a .maintenance order, John Gore was sentenced to one month’s mprisonment with hard labour, to be released on payment of arrears. CIVIL CASES. Judgment was entered up for the plaintiff in tlie following civil unde--1 ended cases:— Thorpe and Tongs v. L. Podmore, claim'£6 7/3, costs £1 19/6; J, A. Hoffman and Son v, A.
