FOXTON HARBOUR BOARD.
S&A- meeting of the local committee or the Foxton Harbour Board was
held in the Board's office last night and was presided over by Mr W. E. Barber. There were also present : Messrs Chrystqll, Signal and Air Roore Rangiheuea (secretary). The question of' ascertaining the most equitable basis for definitely fixing the annual rental of leases at Manawatu Heads, which were ahont lo fall in for the second term, was considered and it was unanimously decided to increase the rental by 59 per centum, as previously adopted by the Board. The matter of subsidising the lessees in reference, to the formation of the Petersen Road was discussed and it was decided in view of the fact that all the sections facing the road were occupied, to grant £ls. In reference to the matter of acquiring building material for the pilot’s wash-house and wood shed, this matter was left in the hands of: Mr Signal. In view ol the ever-growing popularity of the Foxton Beach the question of good road facilities was considered and it was decided to recommend the Board to grant the Manawatu County Council the sum of £SO towards the repair and efficient maintenance of the FoxtonBea.oh road. in reference to the'Rangitikei sea side resort, the secretary was instrutted to ascertain full particulars of leases obtaining there.
