THE MAN FROM HELL’S RIVER. James Oliver Curwood, author of “The Man from Hell’s River,” adapted from liis story “The God of Her People,” which is to he shown at the Royal Theatre to-night, is the writer of many screen successes. There is no other writer who is more familiar with' the West or the North country and this picture is a typical Curwood story. Irving Cummings is the director and the featured player and he is supported by Wallace. Beery and Eva Novak with Rin Tin thfe mighty huskie. Also a fine Mack Sennett comedy “Bright Eyes.” On Monday night romance and adventure under a tropical sky where palm trees are swayed by a warm breeze and sea waves gently hip against a coral beach lures one with its charm and fascination in “Tropical Love.” Guy McConnells’ siorf “Peeks of Gold” offered a plot lick in action and Ralph luce lost no whit of it in transferring it to the screen. Extra: “The Timber Queen.” ••SKIRTS" TO-NIGHT. Stunts unbelievably reckless in \..i|t|iie..as to make., the photoplay i 4! ion refuse to'give credence to „liat his eyes behold, abound in “Skirts,” the six act Comedy which heads the bill at the Town. Hall to-night. Besides the o',ooo performers (including 3,000 bathing girls) in “Skirts,” the director lias called hi the aid of a circus menagerie, motors, aeroplanes, warships and submarines, to --.apply thrills which abound in every reel. A tornado, racing cars and a iraiu smash are only three of ilie big scenes. Among' the novellies are 19 actors averaging about JU inches in height and a giant. Lieutenant Thomson, an aerial daredevil, provides several “breath-tak-ers.” “Skirts” will be screened at 9.13 so that shop workers will be abei to see it and will be preceeded by a drama “Hearts of Youth,” featuring Harold Goodwin. The management have decided to keep to usual prices to-night, 9d and 1/6, children 3d and 6d.
