At Palmerston North on Saturday, after a hard-fought game, Manawatu B. defeated Wanganui B. by 15 points to 12. In the Junior Contest Manawatu defeated Dan-
nevirke by 9 points to 5. At Gisborne, Poverty Bay defeated Wairoa by 22 points to three. At Christchurch, Canterbury defeated Wairarapa by 15 points to nil. The last match for the Harding Shield was played on Saturday between Northern Wairoa, the holders, and Hokianga. Wairoa won with 10 points to nil. At New Plymouth, Taranaki defeated Wanganui by 23 points lo 13. At Napier, Hawke’s Bay defeated Ilorowht-nua in the Ranfurly Shield match by 38 points to 11. At Wellington, Wellington defeated Otago by 26 points to 6. At Auckland, the New South Wales Rugby team was easily defeated by Auckland, the home team winning by 27 points to 11.
