FOXTON VOLUNTEER FIRE BRIGADE.
PUBLIC DEMONSTRATION. The local Volunteer Fire Brigade gave a public demonstration in Main Street on Saturday night, which was witnessed by a large crowd of spectators. The main in front of Mr Walls’ shop was tapped, and three leads of hose were employed on the new buildings at the corner of Main and Clyde Streets. There was a splendid pressure of water, which was sent skywards far above the buildings, and the brigadesmen demonstrated efficiency in their various manipulations. The turn-out and demonstration was capably carried out by Superintendent MeDcrmid and Deputy Pearson. Congratulatory remarks were heard on nil sides in regard to the equipment and efficiency of the brigade.
