OBITUARY.

MRS. J. J. KRUSE, AGED 61 YEARS. There passed away at the Palmerston Hospital, at 9.30 a.m. yesterday, a well-known Foxton resident in the person of Mrs Catherine Kruse, wife of Mr J. J. Kruse, at the age of 61 years. The deceased who had been in ill-health for some time past, was removed to the Palmerston Hospital for treatment last Wednesday. The cause of death was heart trouble. The late Mrs Kruse was the daughter of the late Mr and Mrs Amos Howe, and was born at Wellington in 1562. She accompanied her father to Foxton, as a child, and has resided here since. As a young woman she was a favourite vocalist, and was wellknown throughout the district. She leaves a husband and one son (Mr W. F. Kruse) to mourn their loss. The intemnent takes place tomorrow.
