“MY FRIEND THE DEVIL.”
Described as the most tense production of the year, “My Friend the Devil” will he the leading feature at the Town Ilall on Saturday night. It is a drama of atheism of tangled loves and more tangled lives, of believers and disbelievers. The picture is directed hv Harry Millard, the man who gave us “Over the Hill,” whilst an all-star cast is headed by Barbara CastleI on'and Charles Riehman. “My Friend (lie Devil’” is a modern version of the problem of the ages—the eternal triangle. It shows the result of the devil’s handiwork, the furv of an awakened husband, and the good and evil battle for a strong man’s soul.
“Monte Cristo,” William Fox’s theatrical spectacle that is the glory of the picture world, will be screened next week. Watch for further particulars. * “THE MOLLYCODDLE.” Douglas Fairbanks again! This popular star in his latest picture, “The Mollycoddle.” This is quite a new development in Him stories. In this, Doug, takes the part of a man who came from a generation of lighters, but who was transplanted to England at an early age, and there lived a “hothouse” sheltered life, and accordingly developed into ;i very civilised, quiet, gentle young man. He goes to America, ami gets “out West,” meets a girl win disapproves of his foppishness, and then the fighting ancestry takes hold, and he fights and rides with the best. The story is adapted from the novel by Harold McGrath, and will be shown at the Royal to-mor-row evening.
